You are here:  Counselor Corner
School Counselor

I am Cheryl Johnson-Nash, your school counselor. I feel so privileged to have an opportunity to serve you and the children at Farrell. It is my goal at Farrell to work with our team in maximizing the success of all students. As a counselor, I have many responsibilities. However, most of my time is centered on counseling and testing.  Testing takes up a great deal of my time.  Throughout the year we will have multiple opportunities to assess our children through Curriculum Assessments and STAAR testing.  For a complete list of testing dates for our district, click here.  More specific dates for Farrell can be found on our home page.

As a counselor in the Arlington ISD, I am permitted to see a child once about any given situation without parent permission.  However, if I am going to see your child on several occasions about the same situation, I will need your permission.   Usually I will contact you by phone to explain the process and discuss the need before sending the AISD Permission Form home for your signature.  Likewise, if at anytime you feel the need for me to counsel your child, please do not hesitate to contact me.  A new form must be signed each school year.

Group Counseling: Each year I try to implement group counseling for each grade level.  The counseling is usually focused on character building or a designated area of need.
