STAAR Day.
April 3

4th graders take the writing STAAR, and 5th graders take the reading STAAR.

Library LiNK.
April 9

The library is open every Tuesday night from 5:00-7:00. Families are welcome to use the library to read, play games, check out books, and use the computers. They can choose from the more than 20,000 books in Atherton's collection or select from the collection of Arlington Public Library books.


AISD All-Elementary Chess Tournament.
April 13

The Atherton Chess Club will compete with other Arlington ISD schools in the 11th Annual AISD All-Elementary Chess Tournament. Come out and support Atherton! More information is available at www.aisd.net/chess.

Join us in the cafeteria for Family Math Night. Play games and participate in activities to reinforce math skills you've been learning in class.


Basic Parenting 101.
April 17

Parents are invited to come learn some tips for effective parenting.


Poem in Your Pocket Day.
April 18

Carry a poem in your pocket all day to celebrate National Poem in Your Pocket Day. You can create your own poem or copy down one of your favorites. Students who are stopped in the halls and asked to read their poems will have a chance to win a prize.


Kindergarten Round-Up.
April 18

New kindergarteners and their families are invited to visit the school, meet teachers, and learn what Atherton is all about. Parents may pre-register their students for the 2013-2014 school year.


STAAR Pep Rally.
April 19

Join Atherton students as they prepare for the upcoming STAAR exams and celebrate the great job they've already done. The award-winning All-Star Step Team will be performing.
