Andy Hagman, Assistant Principal
Mr. Hagman spent his first sixteen years in the Chicago area, then moved to Arlington and graduated from Martin HS. He graduated with honors from the University of Texas at Austin ("Hook 'Em, Horns!") in 1993 with a degree in Mathematics. He later earned a master's degree in Educational Leadership and Policy Studies at the University of Texas at Arlington.
In 1995 he began teaching Mathematics at Venture School, an alternative school-of-choice in Arlington. After an administrative internship at Farrell Elementary, he became the assistant principal at Venture in April 2004. He joined the Lamar staff in June of 2008, and in addition to focusing on freshmen attendance and discipline, he works with the Mathematics Department, UIL Academics, Academic Decathlon, and dual credit courses, among other things.
He enjoys working with students and their families to help them be successful and satisfied with their school experience. His door is always open, and he strives to find the best solutions for all involved.
His joy is his family. Three young children keep him and his wife hopping with activities, practices, and games! Free time is usually devoted to running and exercise.
