Mrs. Maier is from Katy, Texas. In her high school band, she played trumpet and was a drum major. She was also a member of the Future Homemakers of America.

She got her degree at University of North Texas in Vocational Home Economics with English as a second teaching field. She became part of the Lamar Staff in 1996 as an assistant principal, after teaching English at Shackelford Junior High and Carter High School.

At Lamar she works as a SASI security officer and oversees scheduling. She is responsible for senior attendance and discipline.

She has a son and daughter and two grandchildren. She loves to read mystery novels and play with her cat and dog.
