A fifth generation native Texan, Mr. Moore grew up in Fort Worth Texas. In high school he played basketball and baseball. He also excelled academically, earning membership in the National Honor Society and graduating Summa Cum Laude.

He received his undergraduate degree from the University of Texas at Arlington with a major in history and a minor in physical education. He earned his Master's Degree in Public School Administration from the University of North Texas.

Mr. Moore was the head football coach and basketball coach at Nichols Junior high before joining the Lamar faculty as the boys' basketball coach in 1991. He also taught economics and history. In October of 2000, he became an assistant principal at Lamar.

In addition to working with student attendance and discipline, Mr. Moore oversees security, volunteer workers, the teacher's handbook, and the student parking lot.

Mr. Moore believes in relating to the students by treating all of them as fairly as possible. What makes his job most enjoyable is working with great people at Lamar-both students and faculty.

Outside of work his free time is spent with his son, daughters, and grandchildren. When away from his family he enjoys being on the golf course.
