Manny Triana, Assistant Principal
Mr. Triana was born in Havana, Cuba and emigrated to the US with his family at the age of ten. He was raised in San Antonio, Texas. In high school he was involved in almost every extra-curricular activity. He was a member of the National Honor Society and graduated Salutatorian of his class.

Mr. Triana received his undergraduate degree in mathematics from the University of Texas at San Antonio and his graduate degree in school administration from the University of Texas at Arlington.

In 1996 he came to Lamar as an assistant principal from the Grand Prairie Independent School District, where he taught math. He is bilingual, fluent in Spanish and English. His work with minority students is an important contribution to Lamar. His responsibilities include discipline, attendance, textbooks, and the phone calling system, just to name a few.

Mr. Triana likes interacting with students and finds helping them solve problems and reach their educational goals satisfying. Mr. Triana believes that treating the students with respect and listening to what they have to say is important to his job.

Mr. Triana enjoys spending time with his family, running for exercise, and listening to music from the 50s. He is an Elvis impersonator and loves to entertain.
