Farrell ElementaryJennifer Pettiford’s kindergarten class at Farrell Elementary published a book, Everything About Texas is Great! I attended their celebration Monday afternoon and was excited to hear the students read their work.

Many of our fine arts groups will be performing at the Levitt Pavilion and holding end-of-year concerts in the coming weeks. Be sure to visit the fine arts calendar for all of the information.

An election will be held Saturday for the Board of Trustees to fill Places 1, 2 and 3 and for the city of Arlington to fill Districts 1, 2, 6, 7 and 8. If you haven’t voted already, I encourage you to take the time to do so Saturday.

Primary elections will be held May 29, with early voting starting Monday. This is an important year to make sure your voice is heard as education funding will be discussed at both the state and national level.

Next Wednesday is AISD Night at the Texas Rangers. Board President Peter Baron will throw out the first pitch, and the teachers of the year will be recognized. It’s not too late to buy tickets.
