Hello! My name is Samanda Miller, and I'm the 8th grade counselor at Workman Junior High.  This is my second year at Workman, and my 5th as a school counselor. I have worked at both elementary and high school campuses, but junior high is, by far, my favorite.

The 8th grade year is a very important year of transition for our students. There are many rites of passage that 8th graders will go through before the year is over. Eighth graders have their first opportunity to take High School credit courses this school year.  Students must pass the TAKS test in order to be promoted to the 9th grade. And in the spring, our students will choose their classes for their freshman year in high school.
