WELCOME TO MY WEBSITE. MY NAME IS COACH GONZALES. I AM THE STRENGTH COORDINATOR HERE AT MARTIN HIGH SCHOOL. ALL OF MY CLASSES ARE STRENGTH TRAINING CLASSES. ALONG WITH THOSE CLASSES I TRAIN SOME TYPE OF ATHLETIC TEAM IN THE WEIGHT ROOM. YOUR CHILD WHILE ENROLLED IN MY CLASS WILL HAVE THE OPPURTUNITY TO LEARN ABOUT FITNESS. MY CLASSROOM IS LOCATED IN THE BIG WEIGHTROOM. EVERYDAY WE WILL PERFORM SOME SORT OF CARDIOVASCULAR CONDITIONING FOLLOWED BY AN ORGANIZED LIFT IN THE BIG WEIGHTROOM.
EACH STUDENT WILL WORK THREE CATEGORIES OF WORKOUTS. EACH SIX WEEK PERIOD OF THE SEMESTER WILL BE A DIFFERENT TYPE LIFTING PROGRAM. THE THREE CATEGORIES WILL CONSIST OF A MUSCLE SPECIFIC, TOTAL BODY, AND CIRCUIT TRAINING STAGE. EACH OF THE THREE STAGES FOCUS ON A DIFFERENT WAY TO TRAIN THE HUMAN BODY. ALSO DURING EACH OF THE SIX WEEK PERIODS WE WILL ALSO LEARN ABOUT PROPER DIET. AT THE END OF THE SIX WEEKS WE WILL PERFORMANCE TEST THE FOLLOWING:
1. ONE REP BENCH PRESS MAX
2. ONE REP SQUAT MAX
3. ONE MILE RUN
4. MAX SITUP 1 MINUTE TEST
5. PULLUPS
I ENCOURAGE STUDENTS TO DRESS OUT EVERYDAY OF CLASS. EACH TIME A STUDENT DOES NOT DRESS OUT FOR CLASS THEY WILL RECEIVE A 10 POINT DEDUCTION OFF OF THEIR FINAL SIX WEEKS GRADE. STUDENTS ARE REQUIRED
