Welcome to my site! I am pleased to be working with you this school year 2009-2010. I am excited that you/your child have chosen to learn American Sign Language (ASL). ASL is a language with it’s own grammar, syntax, structure, and is rich in culture and diversity.
I started learning ASL at the age of sixteen, and fell in love with the language and culture over night. When I graduated high school I attended Tarrant County Community College and earned my Associates Degree in Sign Language Interpreting. During this time, I also became a BEI State certified level II Sign Language Interpreter. I then went on to earn my Bachelors degree in American Sign Language from Gardner-Webb University in Boiling Springs, North Carolina.
I have worked with the Deaf as an interpreter since 2004, and I look forward to sharing my knowledge and experience of this rich language and culture with you/your child. I sincerely hope that you/your child will enjoy learning ASL as much as I enjoy teaching it!
