Classroom Procedures
WHAT DID YOU DO IN CLASS TODAY?
Copy your assignments everyday in your Shack Attack. They must be copied word for word from the board. You will have a binder check each week.
I WAS ABSENT YESTERDAY, WHAT DID WE DO IN CLASS?
You are responsible for your Make-Up work. When you return, copy your assignments from the Homework board and pick-up any worksheets from daily folder. You will have one day for each day you are absent to get it turned in. If you miss a quiz, see me ASAP to make it up. I will not ask, that’s your job. All grades will be posted as a zero until you make up the work.
WHAT DO I DO WITH MY HOMEWORK?
Papers will be due at the beginning of your class period. Completed late papers will be accepted with a fifty point penalty.
WHAT IF I MADE A REALLY LOW GRADE? CAN I GET BREAK?
One low daily grade and one low quiz grade will be dropped each six weeks.
CAN I GET CREDIT FOR SOMEONE ELSE’S WORK?
NO! Cheating of any kind will not be tolerated and will result in a zero and a parent phone call.
GET TO CLASS ON TIME. THERE IS NO DISCUSSION ON THIS.
Each time you are tardy to class will reduce your Citizenship grade by 5 points and will result in an assignment to Tardy School.
REQUIRED STUDY TIME
(two hours per week).
AVID Club will be open BEFORE SCHOOL Monday through Friday (8:15-8:45). Our Homework Help program is in the Library Monday through Friday BEFORE SCHOOL (7:45-8:45) and Monday through Thursday AFTER SCHOOL (4:00-5:00). If you qualify to ride the bus, there will be a late run at 5:00. Each core teacher has tutoring hours before or after school for help in their specific subject area. You may also do your Study Time at home as long as you are DOCumenting your time and passing your classes.
Your “DOC” sheet with study times and signatures will be due every MONDAY for a QUIZ grade.
HOW AM I DOING?
Progress Reports will be sent home for every student each six weeks. A list of all assignments and grades for each student will be given also at the three weeks and six weeks grading periods. I will be meeting with each student one-on-one each grading period.
