Attendance

If a student is absent:
1.
The parent must call the morning of the absence and report the reason for the absence. (682-867-1200) The attendance clerk, (682-867-1201) will excuse only 5 absences.  After 5 absences, a doctor's note is required.

2.  Option:  Parent or guardian may bring the student to the school clinic before 10:00 A.M. and it will be determined if the student should remain at school.

3.  If a parent does not call, the student will be coded unexcused. It is the student's responsibility to obtain an admit to class from the attendance clerk.

4.  Since Block Scheduled classes meet on alternate days, each class meets approximately 44 times each semester. Thus, 5 absences or more exceeds the state's 90% attendance requirements per semester.

5.  Students may fail their classes if they do not meet the state's 90% attendance law.

6.  Make-up work will be available for students with excused absences.  It is the student's responsibility to get all assignments.  One day is allowed for each day absent.

7. Three unexcused tardies constitute one unexcused absence.

For information on the tardy procedures, please refer to Mrs. Bradley.
