WHAT AISD SECURITY DOES WELL.......
|
- Patrol almost 90 square miles, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
- Responsible for protecting and securing over 85 schools and buildings.
- Responsible for protecting and securing 170+ portable buildings.
- Oversee the safety of 63,000+ students and 8,000+ district staff.
- Onsite campus security to assist the faculty and enforce school policies.
- Monitor and maintain 1,400+ cameras and 110+ digital recording devices.
- Conduct and track metal detector checks and canine searches.
- Monitor and assist in maintaining all facilities security and fire alarm systems.
- Report to maintenance and operations, any property damage or repairs.
- Complete incident reports, criminal trespass warnings and take incident pictures.
- Assist the police & fire departments concerning school related incidents.
- Maintain a common database for student parking permits and violations.
- Assist with after school events, as well as traffic control.

Training classes are conducted for new security officers, Red Cross CPR/First Aid/AED yearly certificates and district programs relating to student and staff interaction. |

Martin HS Security Officer Saves Choking Man
Teresa Jackson and her family were eating at Coopers BBQ, Sunday July 11, when a man started choking. Ms. Jackson immediately started the Heimlich method and on the second thrust removed the object. Ms. Jackson, attended class last summer and credits the class for helping save the man's life.
