Family Values: How to Build Character

What exactly makes up a strong family that possesses good family values? A family that sustains its members — that supports and nourishes the members throughout the span of that family. A strong family unit creates a safe, positive and supportive place for all members to thrive. They are able to utilize resources and to live together in a fairly healthy manner.

The adults in a strong family set the tone. They are good role models that lead by example. They reach out to friends and community and teach their children the importance of doing the same -- and that becomes part of who the children are. They work together to solve problems, and they pass their skills on to the next generation. Some important elements of a strong family system are family cohesion, family flexibility and family communication.

Drop Off/Pick Up

Please drop off and pick up all students in the front drive.  Only the buses are allowed in the back drive.  All kindergarten students that arrive after 8:05 should be brought to the front office and a Teacher Assistant will take them to class.  Students arriving after 8:20 should come to the front office and get a tardy slip before going to class.

Students picked up before the end of the school day must be picked up before 3:00 and must present a doctor's note when returning to school the next day.  Students that do not have a note will receive zeros for the work missed that day.

Please limit the number of times you pick your child up before 3:00 pm.  It disrupts instruction, not only for your child, but others as well!

TIME FOR SCHOOL

School doors open for Breakfast at 7:30 am.  No one is on duty to watch your children before 7:30 am.  If you need to drop off your children sooner, please consider enrolling in our YMCA program.  They open at 6:30 am.

FIRST BELL   -   8:05

TARDY BELL  -   8:20

DISMISSAL   -  3:20

Students should be in their desks, ready to begin the day before 8:20.  Students will be counted TARDY if they arrive in their classrooms after 8:20.  Please help your children get to school on time each day!

With the exception of a family emergency, no students will be dismissed after 3pm in the afternoon.  It creates an extra burden on the classroom teacher to dismiss one student as she prepares to dismiss the remainder of the class.  Please try to arrange appointments for your children after school.
