Hoops for Heart

West Elementary will start Hoops for Heart on January 30th.  Students are encouraged to raise money to help fight heart disease.  West has been the #1 school in Texas for the last 2 years and is also #27 in the nation.  Since West began Hoops for Heart 3 years ago, we have raised over $32,000 for the American Heart Association.  Please help support the cause!

Support West at Beto's

Monday 1/30 - Sunday 2/5.  We need your support!  Heard of Groupon?  Razeness.org does the same thing for charitable organizations.  Starting on Monday, January 30th, you will be able to purchase a $24 voucher for Betos' for only $12, AND they will donate a portion of the proceeds to West Elementary!  Go to www.razeness.org/west.

 
Notice from the school nurse

Please review the guidelines about when to keep children home and when a child may return to school after having been ill.  It is important to follow these guidelines so your child has time to heal and also so the child does not infect other students and staff.  A doctor's release is required to return to school when a child has been ill three consecutive days.

Attached is information for an Essay and Art Entrepreneurship Contest for 3rd - 6th graders.  The deadline to submit entries to West is Friday, February 10, 2012.  Please return entries to the West office.
