Welcome to the 2008-2009 school year!  Below is general information about your child's classroom routine in his/her Champ's Team English class.  Please feel free to print this out and refer to it throughout the school year.

Daily- Students will complete a Daily Oral Language (DOL).  The DOL consists of two proofreading sentences that students and teacher go over daily, and a one paragraph essay that is completed the first ten minutes of each class.  These are due each Friday.

Mondays-DOL/ Weekly Vocabulary review

Tuesdays-DOL/Tuesday TAKS lessons/Grammar Lesson or Writing Workshop

Wednesdays-DOL/ Wednesday Words [Weekly Spelling Tests]*/Continue Grammar Lesson or Writing Workshop

Thursdays-DOL/Grammar Lessons or Writing Workshops

Friday-DOL /Weekly Vocabulary Test from Monday

*Each student will be given a list of spelling words at the beginning of the school year.  Students are responsible to keep up with the list.  If a student loses his/her list, he/she may bring coins for the copy machine in the library to replace the list.
