Welcome to the Odyssey Team 
 and
Mrs. Starns' eighth-grade English class.

 

As an eighth-grade English student, your class will include all areas of language arts.  You will read novels, short stories, poems, drama and nonfiction. Grammar, writing and vocabulary skills will be taught as a whole and not just a single unit which will help to keep things interesting. 

We move at a fast pace, so attendance is very important to your success in class.  Attitude also plays a very important role, so be sure to come to school with a positive one knowing that you will be working hard. Your eighth-grade year is going to be exciting, fun and challenging. I look forward to meeting you.  Mrs. Starns
