Welcome to my web site!  I am so excited to be teaching PC English at Martin High School.  I have been teaching for eight years after leaving the business world.  I have been a Martin Warrior for six years.  Prior to teaching at Martin High School, I taught for two years at Venus Middle School.  I love to get my students enthusiastic about learning and life.  Books are a passion I hope to pass on to my students.  Currently I have over 300 books in my classroom for young adults on various reading levels from science fiction, to black history, to books specifically for girls, and many other topics in between.

I played basketball for University of Texas at Arlington from 1985-1989.  I received my BA in journalism with a minor in English.  I also am a writer and poet.   I have been published in various print publications, as well as on line publications. 

I also sponsor the UNLEASHED poetry club.  We meet once a month on the 3rd Wednesday of each month.

There are two poetry contests each year called "Hidden Talents" poetry contest, with cash prizes. 

Our class publishes a poetry book each year called Unleashed, so be sure to look for it in May.
