The next novel we will read and study is Bless Me, Ultima by Rudolfo Anaya. Plan on beginning February 1.

English II students are finishing the six weeks and taking the districk benchmark exams. This is also a grade for the English II course (reading and writing), as it assesses the ELA II TEKS. The third six weeks will be spent looking at nonfiction. Students will watch CNN Student News at the beginning of every class period and will be required to write a journal response to the news program. Students will also be reading and analyzing several nonfiction articles from the English II textbook.
