Upcoming tests: 2/14- Chapters 16 & 17 (Happy Valentine's Day)******Big Valentine's Day Kiss: the test on 16 and 17 is open note! Anything from the website may be used, HOWEVER, any notes taken, summaries written, or questions answered must be HANDWRITTEN, not typed...repeat, not typed. Why? Because there is a link between the process of handwriting and brain activity, and, also, because I said so!********

The e-mail address (tdowdey@aisd.net) located on the Martin website is the best way to reach me.
Tutorials are on Thursday afternoons from 3:00 to 4:00, although it is always best to ask questions during the class period.
Welcome to this site. I currently teach Advanced Placement Biology and PreAP Biology. My background is in genetics and evolutionary biology. I have a Master's Degree in biology, with concentrations in ecological and evolutionary biology. I am starting my 29th year here at Martin, and my 17th year of teaching AP. The goal of the AP class is to provide a solid foundation in biology which can be built upon once in college. Students will also be prepared for the AP exam offered in May. Self-reliance is an additional goal set for students in AP Biology. PreAP Biology is a survey class providing a strong foundation in basic topics of biology which will be expanded upon in AP Biology.
