I feel privileged to teach Web Mastering 1 & 2 at Martin
High School. I have been in
education for 24 years and have taught elementary school, middle school, junior
high school and high school, as well as, an Instructional Technology Director. I
previously worked in Grapevine-Colleyville ISD and Hurst-Euless-Bedford ISD.
I thoroughly enjoy working with the students and teaching
Technology Applications curriculum. The subject matter is always changing which
makes the classroom environment challenging and invigorating. Many different types of students enjoy Web Mastering. Students talented
in the visual arts, programming, writing/publishing, and music enjoy designing
and publishing in a web environment.
Web I curriculum consists of learning how to design and build web pages using
HTML and Dreamweaver. Fireworks will be used extensively to create the images
needed for web sites. Also, animations will be created for the web environment
using Flash. Design techniques to integrate all of these programs will be
covered.
Web II students work with advanced web concepts
including PHP, MYSQL, forms, styles, and web page interactivity which includes
Flash animation scripting. Advanced graphics skills will also be covered using
Fireworks.
