Welcome

Welcome to my site!  I teach in the Mastery Assistance Center (MAC) at Martin High School.  This is my third year as a teacher in the Special Education Department at Martin.

I graduated from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University and previously worked in the aviation industry as a flight instructor and corporate pilot.  I have been married for 29 years and have two daughters, one granddaughter and one grandson.

I am available before school for tutoring.

MAC Procedures

What is MAC?  MAC is the tutoring lab for any student who receives services through the Special Education Department.

Who utilizes MAC? Students receiving Special Education services as determined by a Special Education ARD committee and dictated in their Individual Education Plan (IEP).

What is the procedure for using MAC services?

  1. After direct instruction has been provided by the teacher and during independent practice, if the student is having trouble with an assignment he/she may ask to, or the teacher may suggest that the student go to MAC.
  2. The teacher fills out a MAC pass and the student is sent to MAC.
  3. Student arrives in MAC and signs in.
  4. MAC staff works with student.
  5. Student is written a pass to go back to class.
  6. Student signs out and returns to class with assignment.

**All students will be sent back to class 10 minutes before the bell in order to turn in assignments and receive any last minute instructions.  Students will take their assignments back to class, with the exception of tests.  Tests will be turned in to the MAC staff.
