Welcome

Click here to see my math resources page.

Welcome to my website.  My name is Linda Scott.  I have 28 years of teaching experience.  This is my 27th year in the AISD.  I taught ninth grade math at Yound Junior High for 14 years and this is my 13th year at Martin.

I grew up in Blooming Grove, Texas, in Navarro County.  It is a town about one fifth the size of Martin High School.  There are more faculty members at Martin than there were students in grades 1 - 12 at my school.  I was very lucky to have had wonderful, dedicated teachers who made leaning fun.  I work hard to live up to the example they set.

I graduated in 1969 from East Texas State University (now Texas A&M Commerce).  I took graduated courses in math at the University of Texas at Arlington and the University of Texas at Dallas.  I  hold secondary teaching certification in math, English, speech, and drama.

My husband Sam and I celebrated our 41th wedding anniversary last June in Rome, Italy.  Sam is the executiv e services manager for the Trinity River Authority of Texas and we have two children who graduated from Martin.

Our daughter Cristin graduated from Martin in 1989 and from Texas A&M University in College Station in 1993 with a degree in accounting.  She lives Austin.  She has three of our four grandchildren.  Sam (7) was born May 4, 2001, Daniel (4) was born July 4, 2004, and Lauren (2) was born March 29, 2006.

Our son Jeff graduated from Martin in 1992 and from Texas A&M in 1996 with a degree in management and international business.  He works for a shipping brokerage firm in Plano.  Jeff is the father of our fourth grandchild.  Jackson (3) was born August 8, 2005.

Sam and I feel very lucky to have two wonderful children and four amazing grandchildren.

A CLOSING THOUGHT

I am deeply committed to preparing all of my students for a bright future and I am dedicated to helping every student realize their potential.  Martin High School is a wonderful place for teachers to teach and for students to learn.  I want everyone to realize our good fortune at being a part of THE BEST OF THE BEST!
