Scholarships are a great way to help students pay for their college education. Scholarships do not have to be repaid. Different scholarships have varying criteria, many are based on merit or need, while other scholarship may be based on community service activities or organizational affliation. Contrary to popular belief which claims that scholarships only go to "straight-A" students, there are scholarships available for every kind of student. Millions of dollars in scholarships are available but much of it goes unclaimed! It is important that students take advantage of the scholarship opportunities available!
Before beginning the scholarship search please be aware of scams. Be wary of scholarship applications that ask for highly confidential information (social security, bank information, etc.). Also DO NOT pay for scholarship searches!! Scholarship searching may seem difficult but there are several free scholarship databases that can help.
