History 

 

J.M. Farrell Elementary School opened in 1989. The school was named after an Arlington veterinarian and long time member of the Arlington School Board who has since passed away.

 

Community Information

Farrell Elementary has approximately 800 students in grades Pre-K through sixth grade. Farrell Elementary is a uniformed campus. For more information on school uniforms, testing, or other school related questions, contact the school at 682-867-0300.

Vision Statement

J.M. Farrell Elementary School will function as a child-centered learning environment where students take responsibility for their own learning, where teachers lecture less and direct learning more, where critical thinking skills will replace rote memorization as the primary objective, where students and teachers are encouraged to use their creative abilities, and where the goal is to prepare students for a lifetime of learning and productive citizenship. Decisions will be made in the classroom, the heart of the educational process.

Our school will work as a community to promote a positive atmosphere, where relationships are built and nurtured, giving students the encouragement and self-motivation to become thinkers, problem-solvers, and lifelong learners. We are dedicated to maximizing individual potential regardless of socioeconomic status, race or gender through supportive and collaborative bonds between school and community.
