Getting Acquainted

Hi! My name is Kelli Randell and I'm glad to be part of the faculty of Workman Junior High.  2009-2010 will be my 10th year here at Workman. I graduated from East Central University in Ada, OK with a Degree in Elementary Education.  I am currently working on a Master's Degree at the University of Texas in Arlington in Curriculum and Instruction in the area of K-8 Mathematics.  This year I am proud to be part of a National Science Foundation MAVS GK-12 grant with UTA, Sam Houston High School, Carter Junior High, and Workman Junior High.  As a part of this grant, my students will work with an UTA Mathematics Graduate student and become even more excited about math and college!

 Saturday Math Academy

Throughout the school year, the math department will conduct many Saturday Math Academies.  These Academies are one way to help your student become more successful in the area of mathematics.  The Academies provide different activities to reinforce the concepts and skills that are being taught in the various math classes.  The purpose of Saturday Math Academies is to provide our students extra time and experiences to allow mathematics to become real and meaningful to them.  In the past we have offered hands on activities, TAKS review, Oydssey Math computer time and small group instruction to encourage our students to become the best math students they can be.  We look forward to seeing you there.
