Lynn Jennings

Ms. Jennings graduated in 1970 with a Bachelor of Business Administration Degree from West Texas A&M. Her first year of teaching was in Aransas Pass, teaching keyboarding and accounting. She began teaching at Workman Junior High in 1983 as a 9th grade business teacher and a 7th grade English teacher. In 1985, Ms. Jennings began a wonderful transition into Computer Literacy.

   Teaching Philosophy

   Technology is a tool to better equip students for the present and the future. Hopefully my role in being their teacher will inspire my students to excel in a fast, changing world. My most fulfilling source of happiness is my students' excitement over their work.

Class description

Computer Literacy

 

 Computer literacy is a one semester course required of all 7th grade students. Topics covered include the following:

 

Introduction to Computers and Computer Terminology

Inspiration 7.5 software covering

Computer Ethics

Microsoft Photostory 3

Word Processing & Desktop Publishing

Power Point

Databases using Microsoft Access

Adobe Photoshop Elements 3.0

Spread Sheets using Microsoft Excel

Ultra Key keyboarding program

Macromedia including Dreamweaver, Fireworks and Flash

Glencoe Tech Connect online software

 

Microsoft Office Publisher
