Spanish 1, Pre-AP, AP Spanish

 Moving Along! 

We ended a great school year 2010-11! At Workman, we offer three levels of Spanish. I would like to welcome the upcoming 7th graders. You will enjoy learning and practicing more Spanish in the Pre-AP Spanish class.  8th grade students will be working hard to get ready for their highschool foreign language studies in Spanish 1. 8th grade AP Spanish students will be preparing to take the Spanish AP exam in May 2012.

Hope you are enjoying your summer and hope to see you in August.

¡Hola!

 

Spanish is a great language at Workman Junior High!

My name is Maria Eugenia Aguilera de Márquez. I currently teach Spanish 1, Pre-AP Spanish and AP Spanish.  I am originally from Guanajuato, Mexico, but have lived in the United States since I was 3 years old.  I grew up in west Texas (Sweetwater, to be exact) and then came to Dallas/Ft. Worth area to continue my studies.  I hold an Associates Degree in Visual Arts/Commercial Art from the Art Institute of Dallas and a Bachelors of Science from the University of Texas at Arlington.

 SUPPLY LIST:

  • 3 ring Binder & Wildcat Planner
  • 1 Spiral or Composition Book (To be kept in classroom at ALL times.)
  • Pencil, blue or black ink pen
  • map colors/markers for projects
  • 1 box of Kleenex
  • 2-3 blank envelopes or ziploc bags for flashcards (Spanish 1 only)
  • 1 Re-writeable Compact Disc (Pre-AP and AP Spanish ONLY)
STUDENT RULES:
 
            Rule 1: Be Prompt, Polite, Prepared, and Positive
 
·         Be Prompt
-          Be seated in your assigned seat when the tardy bell rings.
·         Be Polite.
-          Follow my directions at all times.
-          No food, drinks, or gum allowed in the classroom. (Except on Special Occasions)
-          Comply with all rules in Student Code of Conduct.
·         Be Prepared.
-          Bring all materials including your I.D., books, supplies, and completed assignments.
·         Be Positive
-           Come to class with a positive attitude and ready to learn.
 
Rule 2:   Respect Yourself, Others, and Property.
-          Keep hands, feet, books, and objects to yourself.

-          Respect yourself and others. This includes no swearing, rude gestures, cruel teasing, or put-downs.

REGLAS DEL ESTUDIANTE:
 
            Regla 1: Ser Puntual, Amable, Preparado y Positivo
·            Ser Puntual.
-             Estar sentado/a en su silla asignada cuando timbre la campana.
·            Ser Amable.
-             Seguir mis instrucciones a TODA hora.
-             No se permite comida, bebidas o chicle en el salón de clase, excepto en ocasiones especiales.
-             Cumplir con todas las reglas del libro “Student Code of Conduct”.
·            Estar Preparado.
-             Traer todos los materiales incluyendo a su ID, libros, útiles y tareas.
·            Ser Positivo
-           Venir a clase con una actitud positiva y listo para aprender. 
Regla 2:   Respetarse a si mismo, otros y su propiedad.
-          Mantener sus manos, pies, libros y objetos consigo.
-          Respetarse a si mismo y a otros.  No se permiten malas palabras, burlas, señas, o comentarios negativos hacia otros compañeros.
