I am a graduate of Dallas Baptist University where I have had the opportunity to earn a Bachelor of Arts and Sciences in Biblical Studies, a Master's in Professional Development, a Master's in Counseling and a Master's in Education w/Principal Certification.
Because we move with our students I have the pleasure of getting to know all of my students over a two year period. I look forward to spending another year with my students as they prepare for life in high school.
Pre AP classes offered are: Math, English, Science, & Social Studies. On the 8th grade level Pre-AP Math is a high school class for high school credit.
Parents and students should really think seriously before enrolling in any Pre-AP class. Please know that there will be strong curricular and extra-curricular requirements for all Pre-AP classes. Students, remember the choices you make this year will affect your future. So, please choose wisely.
Some advice I would give to a parent of a junior high school student is get to know the school and how it works differently from the elementary school. Know the testing dates so that medical and dental appointments don't conflict. Know grade reporting dates. Grades are sent home with the students. But most of all, know the names of your child's teachers/team and their e-mail addresses. With all of the requirements and limitations on teachers in today's society, e-mail is a great tool to use to stay abreast of what is going on with your child. Start planning now for high school by researching the high school web sites.
