Phyllis Gordon Ms. Gordon was born in Oakland, California and raised in Stockton, California. She attended San Francisco State University on a voice scholarship. She married a military man her junior year in college and moved around considerably. Ms. Gordon graduated from the University of Hawaii with a History Degree, and then she earned a 5th year Teaching Credential from the Oahu Campus. She has persued graduate work in music at Texas Women's University in Denton, Texas, and she has also completed Music Credits at Trinity University in San Antonio, Texas. -Back to Faculty Page-	Welcome to WJH Choir In choir, we sing a great deal, but we also explore several different aspects of music, musical careers, play and create musical games, raps, and routines, sing through many styles of music, such as folk songs, pop, fun songs, patriotic songs, jazz and show tunes, as well as classical works. Each 6 week period, the students get the chance to watch and critique a top movie musical. At Christmas, the choirs will perform at Six Flags for "Holiday in the Park", a home Christmas Concert and maybe even a play. We are also looking into more opportunities in the community. We participate in the Region V Solo Ensemble Contest and will be doing out first UIL competition in 2007-2008. We will end our year with a wonderful Spring Concert and awards' banquet. Acyee Briggs & Jenny Nguyen received outstanding w/ a medal AND Allycia Rocco, Janice Davis received excellent ratings w/ certificate Rodneshia Nickerson also received a good rating.
