I have not only taught for over 16 years, but have also edited and written for major Christian publishing houses for over 20 years. I am currently pursuing a masters of Library Science at Texas Women's University.

In reading class, I encourage my students to think when they are reading, ask questions, and apply what they're reading to their own life and experiences.

They learn that reading is more than just words on a page.

By visualizing, making charts, and having discussions about what they are reading, students can develop more interest and meaning.

Parents can get involved in their child's reading progress by taking them to the library, the book store, or even garage sales to find great books.
