WHAT IS THE FAMILY INVOLVEMENT PROGRAM
The Family Involvement Program is designed to offer activities and meetings that build a bridge between home and school and that encourage parental involvement with their student’s academic career. Studies show that students whose parents are involved with their education do better in school.
Three different kinds of programs are offered each month:
1. Academic Meetings, e.g., meetings about TAKS preparation and the material being covered;
2. Parent Meetings, e.g., meetings on discipline, building positive self-esteem in your children, conferencing with teachers, etc.
3. Building Capacity, e.g., fun filled family evenings where we play games, bingo, or participate in activities that enhance family communication.
