Students at Carter Junior High may participate in various Clubs & Organizations. The following extracurricular organizations are active at Carter:
Recycling Club
This group of students helps promote our school-wide paper recycling program.
Chess Club
This club meets during lunch.
Student Council
This organization plans dances, honors faculty & staff, and promotes unity at Carter.
National Junior Honor Society
The NJHS is an organization for students who strive to exceed in scholarship, leadership, service, character, and citizenship. Each member must maintain at least a B average or above in all classes and citizenship grades throughout the year. Membership is more than just an honor. It carries not only certain privileges, but also incurs a responsibility and an obligation to demonstrate those outstanding qualities that resulted in the student selection
Step Team
The CJH Step Team took first place honors at the MLK Celebration in February 2006.
Spirit Team/Pep Squad
The Cougar Spirit team is hard at work promoting school spirit at athletic events.
Yearbook
The yearbook is will be sold in the fall. Students and teachers work together to create pages and a cover design for the yearbook.
Carter Book Club
The book club meets in the library with Mrs. Aragon to discuss books they have read.
Carter Swim Team
The swim team practices together at TCC and competes in swim meets across the metroplex.
