Welcome to ninth grade at Martin High School.  This will be an exciting and challenging year for you. You will be doing vocabulary and grammar review on a weekly basis.  You will also be writing essays, writing in response to literature, and doing research in relation to literature.  You will be studying units that include short stories, Greek mythology, The Odyssey, nonfiction essays, poetry, Romeo and Juliet, and the novel To Kill a Mockingbird.    I am an experienced teacher, having taught thirty-one years, primarily in ninth grade. This year marks my twelveth year to teach at Martin High School. I am committed to preparing all my students for a bright future, and I am dedicated to helping every student realize their potential.  Martin High School is an exemplary school with a wonderful atmosphere for teachers to teach and students to learn.  Remember, my goal is the same as yours-your success in your first year at Martin High.
