Welcome to Marketing! Marketing is a skill that everyone can benefit from knowing. Whether it be a career in marketing or the ability to market yourself or sell your ideas, marketing skills are essential. I have been teaching high school for ten years, and I enjoy teaching at Martin High School and at The Class in The Parks in The Parks at Arlington Mall. The Marketing I/II courses I teach are work-based learning courses. In other words, students in these classes earn credit for working at least 15 hours a week. The students attend class either 6th or 7th period and then generally are scheduled with an off period to allow time to work each week.
The Sports and Entertainment Internship class is a double-blocked class (2nd and 3rd period) where students have the opportunity to do unpaid internships in sports and entertainment organizations in our community. An application and interview are required for acceptance into the Internship Program. The Sports and Entertainment Marketing course I teach is a great way for students interested in these career fields to learn marketing while getting their feet wet in these highly competitive industries.
I enjoy having the opportunity to work with students as they explore marketing and the opportunities that it brings! Teaching marketing education allows me to use the professional skills and experience I have acquired over the years in marketing, training, organizational development, and human resources.
