Famous Artist Found Object Assignment - Saturday, May 12, 2012
Bring an old object that you do not use any more from your closet or garage (shoes, bags, jackets, old furniture)
Research the artist that you like the style he or she does.
Sketch a part of their art work.
Gesso your found object.
Transfer your sketch.
Paint or ink. 
Altered book or Personality Box - Tuesday, April 24, 2012
Ten pages and the cover must be completed by May 3rd, if you are making the altered book.

The inside and outside of a box with doors must be completed by May 3rd to show your inside and outside of your personality.

Grading Rubric:
1. Must include a Focal Point with balance, movement, unity, variety and patterns.
2. Must follow directions, using a theme on each page or side.
3. Craftsmanship must be neat and complete! 
Assemblage due April 13,2012 - Friday, April 06, 2012
Finish painting and turn in your Assemblage by Friday, 4-12 
Tessellations and Clay due 2/29/12 - Saturday, February 25, 2012
Make sure your tessellation design and your clay mask are turned in by Feb. 29, 2012.

Welcome to my web page.   I have taught art for 30years and this will be my 20th year at Martin High School.  I love teaching art and inspiring students to find their creative self.  My art classes explore the elements and principles of design.  Art classes experiment with using different media.  The Art I classes start at the basics and will meet the student at their level of experience prior to the class.  Art II takes the Art I student to a more advanced level and helps develop their individual style. 

Our Art club meets Thursday during lunch in room 182.
