Hello, thanks for visiting my website.
I received my BFA in Painting and Art Education from Texas Tech University and my MFA in Studio Art from Southern Methodist University. Aside from making art, in my free time I enjoy going to the park with my wife and daughter, cooking, playing golf and watching Art-house films
I teach Art I, which is an introductory course. Over the course of the year the students will study the Elements and Principles of Art. In doing this they will become familiar with a variation of techniques, multiple modes for art creation, a wide range of art mediums, and prominent cultural/historical art figures.
I also teach Graphic Design. In this course the students will develop a sense of visual literacy. They will build on previous knowledge of the Principles of design and become familiar with computer applications such as Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, and Flash. The goal of this course is to promote an understanding and ability to create images, symbols and designs that clearly communicate ideas with high aesthetic quality.
It is my belief that the visual arts have the power and distinct ability to develop a persons creative problem solving. It is not soley about making beautiful decoration, but instilling in students the idea that there are multiple solutions to all of life's problems and larger questions.
