You have made an excellent choice to join a solid team dedicated to the education of all students. The AISD believes that the most important component to student success is the interaction between the teacher and the student in the classroom.
AISD is a district that recognizes the need to provide strong support and ongoing professional development to all employees. A special emphasis is placed on those new to the profession.
As a part of the district’s support system, AISD currently requires eighteen (18) hours of professional development during the first year of employment for our teachers who are new to the profession (first year to teach). These hours are above and beyond the twelve (12) hours required for your Exchange Plan (explained below).
