Pearcy Library Hours
The Pearcy Library is open every day from 8:05 to 3:20. The library may be closed occasionally for meetings, author visits, or other special school functions.
Students may check out books during their library class time or during open check out times.
Kindergarten through second grade may check out one book. Third through sixth grades may check out 2 books. Arrangements can be made by the teacher if additional books are needed for special assignments or projects.
Overdue Books
When a book is a week or more overdue, students will receive an overdue book notice. The notice should be stapled to the assignment sheet as a reminder until the book is returned. No late fees are charged--the amount on the notice is the price of the book if it is lost. Sometimes a mistake is made while checking in books and the computer shows that the book is still checked out. If you think a book was returned, simply come in and check with the librarian.
Lost Books
If a book is lost, please make an effort to search at home. Notify the teacher so a classroom announcement and search can be made. Then notify the librarian so a lost book notice may be sent home. If a lost and paid book is returned within the same school year a refund will be mailed to the parents or guardians of the student.
Book Care
Please decide on a special place for your child to keep library books away from younger children or pets. If books are kept in the same place each time checked out, it will be easy to find books to return to the library on library day. Remind students to keep books safely away from water and food. Use a bookmark instead of dog-earing pages. Wash hands before reading. Never write in library books. Treat each book as a treasure.
