Association for Compensatory Educators of Texas (ACET) Scholarship

Description:  $1,000 scholarship for students who have been enrolled either Title I, Bilingual/ESL, State Compensatory Education (SCE), Migrant and Homeless. Description:  Xi Theta Omega Foundation presents the Barbara Odom-Wesley Spirit of Achievement Scholarship in the amount of $2,500. Applicant must be African-American female high school senior currently attending classes in the Arlington and Tarrant County area with at least a 2.5 cumulative GPA on a 4.0 scale. Scholarship applicants will be evaluated heavily on the basis of financial need and a 1,000 word essay.

National Association of Black Accountants (NABA) Scholarships; DFW Chapter

Description:  Applicants must be an ethnic minority and a high school senior or a current full time undergraduate/five-year program student declaring a major in the field of business. Applicants must have a minimum GPA of 3.0 to be considered.

National Forum for Black Public Administrators (NFBPA) Scholarships

Description:  Thirteen separate scholarships ranging from $1,000 to $10,000 to recognize African American students who are currently enrolled in a college or university and who exemplify outstanding leadership, scholarship and public service in the fields of public administration, political science, urban affairs, public policy, and other fields. National Hispanic Caucus Scholarship - Southern Region

National Mexican American College Education Fund Scholarship

Professional School Librarians Association Scholarship

Description:  The members of P.S.L.A. wish to support and recognize those within Arlington I.S.D. who are pursing Masters Degrees in Library Science in order to become school librarians. Richard Greene Scholars Scholarship

Description:  Students currently attending their junior year in one of AISD's high schools are selected to receive a $10,000 scholarship to help with college costs. During their Senior year, he/she rotates through an internship every six weeks at different community service and local government entities.

Ron Durham Art Scholarship

Sandy McNutt Scholarship

Description:  The Wood Elementary PTA has established a scholarship to honor former Principal Sandy McNutt. The scholarship is one $400 to be awarded to a Martin High School graduating senior. Applicants must have attended and completed a minimum of two full academic years at Wood Elementary.

Texas Armed Services Scholarship

Description:  Scholarships for participating in ROTC program to prepare for service in the Texas Army, Air Force National Guard or a branch of the U.S. Armed Services. Students must be nominated by their State Representative, State Senator, Texas Lieutenant Governor or Texas Governor.

Texas Lyceum Scholarship

Description:  Award recipients are selected based on leadership, academic record, honors, personal essays, letters of recommendation, potential to succeed, and participation in school and community activities. Eligible candidates are high school seniors planning on attending any accredited Texas College or University. Five $2,000 scholarships will be awarded.

Texas NAHRO (National Association of Housing and Redevelopment Officials) Scholarship

Description:  Deserving students, graduating from high school, whose families are public housing residents or Section 8 clients. These applications will be reviewed by the Texas NAHRO Scholarship Committee and the recipients announced at the 2010 Annual Conference in April 18-22, 2010.

UTA Freshman Honors Scholarship

Description:  A $16,000 scholarship ($4,000/year) will be given to seniors who will graduate in the spring of 2010, who are in the top 20% of their graduating class, AND who earn at least an 1100 SAT or 24 ACT.  Students must be admitted BEFORE February 15, 2010 to be eligible.

UTA Honors Academy

Description:  The UT Arlington Honors Academy provides an outstanding program of study for motivated high school students who enroll in university courses to earn college or dual credit. Honors Academy students can earn up to eight hours of college credit per semester towards a college degree while also meeting high school graduation requirements. Participation in the Honors Academy offers students a unique opportunity to sample college and become familiar with the UT Arlington campus prior to leaving high school.

UTA Honors Distinction Scholarship

Description:  The Honors Distinction Scholarship is the most generous award ever offered to undergraduate students at UT Arlington, providing $20,000 per year for up to four consecutive years for education-related expenses. It is merit-based and highly competitive.

UTA Top 10% Scholarship

Description:  An $8,000 scholarship ($2,000/year) will be given to seniors who will graduate in the spring of 2010 in the top 10% of their graduating class.  This award can be stacked on top of the President’s Charter, Outstanding Freshman, or Freshman Honors Scholarship.  Students must be admitted BEFORE February 15, 2010 to be eligible.

Xi Theta Omega Foundation Debutante Mother/Daughter Spring Tea

Description:  The Xi Theta Omega Foundation, in partnership with the Xi Theta Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., hosts an annual Scholarship Ball and Debutante Presentation for young ladies in their final year of high school. The four month program consists of monthly training modules, with presentations and activities focusing on health and wellness, education, etiquette, leadership development, cultural arts, and community service. Through these activities, our organization seeks to motivate and educate program participants to grow academically, professionally and culturally. The program culminates with a black-tie Scholarship Ball and Presentation during the fall of each year where the debutantes are presented to society and recognized for their participation in the program.
