Dear Providers,
Below are a few reminders for tutoring:
- Backgrounds – All tutors must be cleared with AISD’s Personnel Department including substitutes.
- Campus - you can only tutor: Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 4:00pm to 6:00pm until Wednesday, May 23, 2012.
- Provider Picture ID - Tutors must have their company ID visible at all times.
- Arriving on Campus - Providers can arrive at the campus 15 minutes before sign-in at the office and wait until the bell rings to walk to the classroom. Provider will have 10 minutes to clear up the room after the tutoring. Tutoring times are from 4:00pm to 6:00pm.
- Tutoring – The number of students in the group for each tutor does not exceed the student to tutor ratio. Providers are responsible for making the necessary arrangements to serve those students that parent have requested individual tutoring.
- Attendance Records – Only the student can sign in and sign-in their time in or out. Providers must follow SIRC/TEA guidance: no billing for snack time, games time nor pre/post assessments. Time for snacks, breaks, or incentives is provided outside of the invoiced time of the tutoring session.
- Student Learning Plan – Provider must ensure that instruction provided and content used by the tutor are consistent with the student learning plan. SES is NOT homework assistance. A copy of the student learning plan for each student service must be on site.
- Student Safety – Tutor understands AISD’s emergency procedures. Students’ emergency contact information is available. Only call 911 for TRUE emergencies.
- Student Incentives – The provider that chooses to offer an incentive to students for academic progress, good attendance and/or work completion must ensure that the cost does not exceed $50.00 per student. Also, incentives must be delivered no later than 10 days of informing the students/parents. Incentives must be in good quality condition.
Providers must review with participant employees the Supplemental Education Services Handbook, pages 37 - 38. Provider is fully responsible for his/her employees and their actions, therefore provider and provider employees must follow all guidelines and standards. The company must ensure that all employees understand them and act accordingly.
