Check Out Procedures
1. Your ID card is required to check out any library materials.

2. Always watch the computer screen to see if your name and material titles are correct.

3. It is YOUR responsibility to return your materials on time (even if your class does not come to the library).

4. Before you leave the library, check your materials for any damage and report it immediately.


Returning Materials

Return all materials to the book drop at the end of the circulation desk in the library. You may return materials at any time during library hours.

General info

1. Library hours are from 8:30 a.m. until 4:10 p.m.

2. Students may check out 2 books at a time and keep them for 3 weeks.

3. Audio books may be checked out for 3 days.

4. Reference books and encyclopedias may be checked out for 3 days.

5. Backpacks are not allowed in the library. You may leave your backpack on the table by the door.

Late Books and Fines
1. Materials that are returned after the due date are overdue.

 2. A fine of 10 cents per day is charged for books.

3. A fine of 25 cents per day is charged for audio books.

4. A fine of 50 cents per day is charged for reference books and encyclopedias.

5. Fines stop on the day that any overdue materials are returned to the library.

6. Fines are not charged on days you are absent but are due on the day you return to school.

7. Pay fine money to Mr. Harmon only and sign the receipt book.

Accelerated Reader

Our students at Young Junior High participate in the Accelerated Reader program.

The list includes the book title, author, grade level and points.

Help YJH earn money by shopping at Kroger.

A percentage of all eligible purchases you make using your YJH Kroger barcode will be donated back to YJH. Download and print the attached document and bring it with you everytime you shop at Kroger. The cashier will scan the barcode and a percentage of the purchase will be donated to YJH through the Kroger Neighbor to Neighbor Donation Fund. Thank you for your support of YJH.
