Belinda Tyler Nurse

Nurse Tyler graduated from Northeast Louisiana University Nursing School in 1985, in Monroe, LA with a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing. Northeast is now called University of Louisiana at Monroe or ULM for short.

Nurse Tyler has worked in multiple areas of nursing including Maternal Child Nursing, Adolescent Psychiatry, Hematology and Oncology, Infectious Diseases in Children, and has been Ashworth’s School Nurse for the past 8 years. Nurse Tyler loves working with students and promoting health among students and staff. Nurse Tyler’s goal is to minimize the students’ time in the clinic by attending to their needs so that they can return to the classroom as soon as possible to continue their learning.

Nurse Tyler started Get Fit for Life, an exercise class for students that met after school for 1 hour 3 days a week. The goal of the club was to teach and encourage daily exercise and good eating habits.  Nurse Tyler still likes to get out and run with the children occasionally on Run, Walk, Jog days!

Nurse Tyler is considering pursuing her Master’s Degree in Nursing so that one day she can teach nursing. Nurse Tyler served as Ashworth’s PTA President for the 2014-2015 school year. Nurse Tyler has continued to work with and support PTA.
