Bond Construction is Finished! New Vestibule, Strings Room, and STEM Labs

The major construction projects that were part of the by the 2014 Bond program are complete!

The first project was the vestibule at the entrance to Ashworth.  The interior set of fire doors have been moved to better protect the main hallway from intruders.   Now all visitors must go through the office before being allowed into the main hallway.  We are excited about the additional safety this affords to our students and staff!

The Strings room has also received a huge face-lift.  A wall was removed, which expanded the size of the room, and cubbies were added to allow easy access to instruments.  The size of the Orchestra program has grown over the past few years, so these changes are greatly appreciated.  In addition, sound panels were added to improve sound quality and to buffer the sound for surrounding classrooms.

Finally two state-of-the-art STEM rooms were created from what were once the three Fifth Grade rooms.  The walls of the middle classroom were knocked down and a smaller storage room was created in between the two outer rooms.
