Busy week at Ashworth Family Game Night & Pinwheels for Peace

Pinwheels for Peace with the Arlington PD

It was a big week at Ashworth!

In-n-Out BurgersFirst up, we had Family Game Night on Tuesday night.  In-N-Out Burgers brought their truck with 200+ hamburgers for hungry customers.  Parents and staff brought their favorite games, and the PTA and students from the Seguin High School SVA, Environmental, and Key Clubs were on hand to sell popcorn and Sno-cones.

Then on Friday, Ashworth had its annual Pinwheels for Peace celebration for the International Day of Peace.  Ashworth was the first school in the Arlington ISD to hold this celebration.  Now it has grown to include the Arlington Police Department, whose officers greeted the students and passed out stickers.  The Mustang Chorale sang, and their performance was broadcast live on the Ashworth Facebook feed.

Special thanks go out to the students and teachers for the Seguin SVA, Environmental, and Key Clubs who came in before the sun rose to plant the 400+ pinwheels made by Ashworth students and to the Arlington Police Department.  It was so much fun seeing these heroes interact with our students!
