Toyah Houston-Booker Teacher

I attended Texas Tech University where I graduated with a degree in Human Development and Family Studies with a focus in Child Development.  I have always truly enjoyed learning about the whole child and the stages of their development.

I taught for two years with Tarrant County Head Start.  After receiving my teaching certification in Early Childhood through Fourth Grade, I began teaching Pre-Kindergarten in Fort Worth ISD in 2005.  After teaching Pre-Kindergarten in Fort Worth ISD for six years, I decided to teach closer to my home in Arlington, TX and became a full time Third Grade tutor at Pearcy Elementary in 2012.  The following year in 2013, I began teaching at Ashworth Elementary where I am currently in my fifth year of teaching.  I spent my first four years at Ashworth teaching Kindergarten, and I am now currently teaching First Grade.  I always look forward to teaching another exciting year at Ashworth with the best students and staff!

In my spare time I love spending time and traveling with my family.  I’m married to Corrie Booker, who is also an educator.  We have two sons CJ and Kylan Booker and a dog named Mike.

Every year I look forward to meeting my wonderful new students!
