Gena Weeks Teacher

I am an Arlington native! I graduated from Martin High School and went on to complete my Bachelors of Education in Interdisciplinary Studies at the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor in Belton, Texas in 2016. I am currently pursuing my Masters of Education degree in Educational Administration at the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor. I am in my second year of teaching, and I am so excited to continue to learn how to be an effective teacher.

I love to read and I love helping my students to learn how to read and enjoy it. It is our goal in First Grade to greatly improve their reading levels throughout the year. I also love to teach how to be a good, kind person because I believe every child should be valued and treated with respect and should know to treat others the same way. An education should empower a child and help him or her make a positive contribution to our world.

When I am not working, I love to read, be out in nature, watch movies, play with dogs, and try to keep some plants alive! I am a coffee lover and an outdoor fanatic.

I am so excited to be working with you and your child this school year!
