Clinic

Nurse: Ms. McMillen

Nurse Assistants: Mrs. Tucker and Mrs. Stafford

My name is Jade McMillen and I am the nurse for Beckham Elementary School.  This will be my second year here and I am very excited as I now feel right at home.    Carol Tucker is the clinic assistant here and Laura Stafford will be working with our special needs students again this year.  We would like to welcome back all the students.  To keep your child healthy and safe at school please read the following:

IMPORTANT AISD CLINIC GUIDELINES

MEDICATION:

A specific, written request (AISD medication form) signed by a doctor or other legal prescriber and signed by the parent/guardian must be taken to the clinic with any over-the-counter medication or prescription medication.

NO MEDICATIONS, INCLUDING OVER THE COUNTER MEDICATIONS, WILL BE GIVEN AT SCHOOL WITHOUT A DOCTOR’S ORDER.

All medications must be in a correctly labeled container.  “As needed” medications (Tylenol, Motrin, Sinus…) need to be in a new, unopened container.

KEEP YOUR CHILD HOME WHEN HE/SHE HAS:

  1. Temperature equal to or greater than 100 degree F
  2. Vomiting
  3. Diarrhea
  4. Rash of unknown origin
  5. Eyes red with drainage or awaking with them “glued shut”
  6. Ear pain with or without fever

YOUR CHILD MAY RETURN WHEN:

  1. Fever free (less than 100 degrees F) for 24 hours without the use of fever reducers (Tylenol/Motrin)
  2. Free of vomiting for 24 hours
  3. Free of diarrhea for 24 hours
  4. You have consulted a health care professional if needed or if a medical referral was given

EMERGENCY PHONE NUMBERS:

Please keep current phone numbers in the school office where you can be reached during school hours.  Also, please keep current phone numbers in the office of friends/family in the event we are unable to reach you.  This is very important.

Thank you so much for helping me and my wonderful assistants help the students have a great year!  Please feel free to call with any concerns you may have about your child or the Clinic.
