| Benchmark Testing Schedule |
Benchmark testing - The AISD requires us to administer benchmarks in each core subject three times between August and March in both 7th and 8th grades. The goal of these assessments is to measure student progress by testing objectives which have been recently taught or reviewed in class. These tests are powerful tools to assist teachers in discovering student's strengths ad challenges; they can then plan lessons to address those weaknesses and offer remediation for skill deficits. |

TAKS testing - Both 7th an 8th graders take TAKS tests. In 7th grade, students take TAKS Writing in February as well as TAKS reading and Math in April. In 8th grade, students take TAKS reading, math, science and social studies in April. Students must pass TAKS reading and math in 8th grade or they can not be promoted to 9th grade. |
