Portable classrooms being removed from Workman Junior High

June 3, 2016 - The portable classrooms at Workman Junior High are going away. The 2015-2016 school year ended Tuesday, and now the temporary buildings are being removed.

The addition of a new wing with 16 classrooms, along with the transformation of two former locker bank areas into eight classrooms, will make the portables unnecessary.

The classroom addition, on the south side of the school, is the largest of many bond-funded projects at Workman Junior High. The school will also receive a new entrance, renovated administration space and many life-cycle upgrades. Last summer the cafeteria was expanded.

Now that this summer is here and students and teachers are gone, construction work will begin throughout the building. [See photos: Classroom addition, New entrance and admin area, Expanded cafeteria]
